The Coral Springs Police Department reported numerous crimes across the city between April 27 and May 3, 2026. Please note that the police have redacted the names and addresses of most victims in most incidents.
Incidents
A burglary at a business was reported between April 24 and April 26. An estimated $2,197 in losses was reported.
Multiple retail thefts and shoplifting incidents were reported throughout the week, including losses of $734, $399, $314, $2,198, and $2,062 at businesses across Coral Springs.
A grand theft reported on April 27 involved an estimated loss of $799. Another grand theft was reported on May 1, with an estimated loss of $1,760.
An attempted elderly exploitation case involving an 88-year-old victim was reported on April 28.
A robbery by sudden snatching with an estimated $950 loss was reported on April 28.
Several identity theft and fraud investigations were reported during the week, including one fraud case involving a reported $2,700 loss and another involving $3,000.
Police investigated multiple domestic battery incidents throughout the week.
Several Baker Act cases were reported across the city during the reporting period.
Arrests
Melvin Leonardo Rivas, 47, was arrested April 28 on a felony charge of burglary of an unoccupied structure at 9330 West Atlantic Boulevard.
Joshua Armando Sanchez, 18, was arrested April 29 on a felony charge of possession of cannabis with intent to sell or deliver at 3100 North University Drive.
Javier Alberto Gonzalez, 37, was arrested April 30 on a felony charge of attempted sexual battery involving a victim younger than 12.
Isaiah Vincent Ellis, 20, was arrested April 30 on a felony cannabis possession charge involving more than 20 grams at 8100 West Atlantic Boulevard.
David Jaheim Williams, 20, was arrested May 1 on a felony burglary charge and again May 3 on a felony burglary of an unoccupied structure charge.
Paula Drezek, 36, was arrested May 1 on a misdemeanor DUI charge at 10000 West Atlantic Boulevard.
Joel Algarin, 25, was arrested May 3 on a misdemeanor disorderly intoxication charge at 3240 North University Drive.
