Coral Springs, are you ready for some (flag) football?
The Coral Springs Flag Football League is gearing up for its Fall season, with registration set to open soon. Open to co-ed players ages 7 to 15, the season begins in August and runs through mid-November, with all games and practices held at Mullins Park.
Players will be divided into three age-based divisions: Freshmen (ages 7-9), Juniors (ages 10-12), and Seniors (ages 13-15). Age is determined based on the August 1 cutoff date.
The non-contact league follows a 9v9, blocking-only format and does not require helmets or pads, making it a safe and fun option for players of all experience levels.
No prior football experience is needed to join, and all skill levels are welcome.
Games are typically scheduled Monday through Friday at either 6:30 p.m. or 7:45 p.m., with occasional Saturday games to accommodate weather delays. No games or events are held on Sundays.
Teams will play between 10 and 12 regular-season games and participate in a double-elimination playoff, with the top teams from each division advancing to the championship Super Bowl games. All divisions may also have All-Star games at the end of the season.
The registration cost is $185, which includes a uniform consisting of a jersey and shorts, a mouthguard, and a set of flags.
Mandatory evaluations are held throughout the summer and into the fall, consisting of skill assessments such as flag pulling, running, catching, blocking, and throwing. Players are only required to attend one evaluation session, and specific dates can be found on the league’s calendar.
