The Coral Springs High School girls’ wrestling team is improving and doing well in competitions.
The Colts don’t have a whole team, but they do have some passionate, dedicated athletes. The team participated in the Margate Matness, a large competition at the Margate Sports Complex on January 10.
Abigail Moyer, 125 pounds, earned second place, Miley Pham, 105 pounds, Nylah Smith, 120 pounds, and Maryaliz Bernardina, 145 pounds, all earned fourth place.
“We have a small girls’ team, but they are very serious and are working to build the sport at Coral Springs. Our team did very well today,” said assistant wrestling coach Henry Johnson.
Moyer has a passion for wrestling. “I have a mindset of wanting to be the best and to win,” she said.
