A Coral Springs High School student has earned a major leadership role on the state level, marking a significant milestone for both the school and South Florida student councils.
Donny Vo, a junior at Coral Springs High School, was elected State President of the Florida Association of Student Councils (FASC) during the organization’s annual conference on Feb. 22.
Vo secured the position after leading a three-day campaign at the conference, where approximately 1,500 student council leaders from across Florida gathered. As part of his platform, he introduced a statewide service project to collect food for Florida’s most vulnerable populations.
His election marks the first time in six years that a student from FASC’s District 6, which includes Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe counties, has been chosen as state president.
Vo previously served as FASC State Parliamentarian and will now transition into leading the organization’s 2026-27 state board. In his new role, he will help guide FASC’s strategic plan, expand leadership opportunities for students statewide, and oversee the implementation of the new service initiative.
He credited Coral Springs High School Student Government Association Advisor Cassandra Brice for her role in the achievement, citing her long hours and commitment to helping students succeed throughout the campaign process.
