Coral Springs’ Jonathon Lopez Named 2025 SFCBL Rookie of the Year

Jonathon Lopez is known for his sweet swinging, and that was on full display this summer in the South Florida Collegiate Baseball League.
Lopez, who resides in Coral Springs, was named the 2025 SFCBL Rookie of the Year. He began his high school career at J.P. Taravella and hit .354 with five extra-base hits and 26 RBIs. Lopez went on to play his final year with St. Thomas Aquinas High School and won a State Championship.
During that season, he hit .369 with seven home runs and 38 RBIs. Lopez also pitched and went 4-0 with an ERA of 2.33. Next, he is set to continue his baseball career at Florida Atlantic University this year and will play for a team that went 37-21 a season ago.
