The 911 call was released in the murder of Daniela Tabares Maya where suspect Yvonne Serrano explains to dispatch how she had no recollection as to why a woman was dead in her driveway the morning of November 23.
After Coral Springs Police responded to 1659 NW 100th Drive, in Coral Springs, after Serrano reported Maya dead from a gunshot wound to her head at 5:55 a.m., detectives conducted an investigation and determined Serrano, 51, shot and killed the victim in the early morning hours.
The previous day Maya and Serrano attended “21 Bridges” at the Silver Spot Cinema. They did not sit together; however, Serrano stated she and the victim were part of a large group of friends who all attend the same gym called Training for Warriors in Coral Springs.
After the movie ended, they went to World of Beer in Coconut Creek where both the victim and Serrano can be seen on surveillance inside conversing, laughing, and drinking for several hours. The victim and Serrano are seen on video, leaving the bar together with the victim driving her home.
Although they knew one another, during Serrano’s 911 call, she said there was an unknown car in her driveway with a dead body.
“With what?” Answered the dispatcher.
“A dead body.”
“How do you know that they’re dead?”
“I just walked out and see it.”
“What kind of vehicle is it?”
“It’s a Nissan something.”
“How do you know they’re dead?”
“I tried to press the body.”
“Are they inside the vehicle?”
“No, they’re outside the vehicle.”
“Does it look like they shot themselves. And you don’t know this person?
“No, it’s a Nissan…”
“No, do you know them?”
“It’s a girl.”
“Do you know that girl”
“I can’t tell.”
“You can’t tell if you know them?”
“There’s blood…She’s been here for a while.”
“OK, you’re positive she’s not breathing?”
“I can tell she’s not breathing.”
“Are there any weapons lying around her?”
“Not that I can see.”
“Did you say she’s bleeding anywhere?”
“From her head.”
She’s bleeding anywhere?
“She’s bleeding everywhere…..”
After police arrived, she told them she had no recollection of how she got home from World of Beer, and that she woke up that morning only to find the body of a dead woman in her driveway.
Serrano was arrested and charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence and Murder in the Second Degree. She was subsequently transported to Broward County Jail.
