As students prepare to head back to class, the Coral Springs Police Department is looking to add more school crossing guards to help keep children safe on their way to and from school.
The department announced that Staffing Connection, the city’s vendor for hiring school crossing guards, is accepting applications for the position.
According to a social media announcement, applicants will be assigned to locations as close to their homes as possible, whenever feasible.
The part-time position offers a unique schedule, with crossing guards working approximately 1.5 hours each school day while receiving pay for three hours daily.
School crossing guards play a vital role in helping students safely cross busy intersections during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal, while also assisting with traffic flow around school campuses.
