State Senator Tina Polsky and State Representative Christine Hunschofsky have secured $500,000 in state funding to enhance the Coral Springs Real Time Crime Center, according to city records.
The Real Time Crime Center, which integrates live video feeds and public safety data, helps police prevent and solve crimes through faster decision-making and improved coordination. The new state appropriation will fund upgraded software to support critical visualization tools, including expanded use of city cameras and license plate readers, the records show.
City officials say the upgrades will boost efficiency at the center and improve regional public safety efforts by allowing officers to respond more quickly to developing incidents.
Polsky (D-Boca Raton) and Hunschofsky (D-Parkland) will formally present the funding during the Aug. 20 city commission meeting, which begins at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
Both legislators represent districts that include Coral Springs.
