
Coral Springs high boys and girls Tennis teams {David Volz}
Joseph Mullins is a top tennis player and student leader at Coral Springs High School.
The captain of the boys’ tennis team, Mullins, helps coach some of the team’s up-and-coming players. He also shows special-needs players how to play tennis.
“It takes dedication and a lot of practice time to become good at tennis. I enjoy coaching and helping my teammates improve,” said Mullins.
A high-achieving student, Mullins is dual-enrolled at Broward College and has a 5.2 grade point average. He is president of the National Honor Society and vice president of Health Occupations Students of America.
Sophia Rodriguez, a leader of the girls’ team, is looking forward to the season. “I am practicing and working on improving my game,” she said.
Rodriguez is a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, and the Debate Club.
Coach Chris Tully believes the team can be successful. The Colts recently defeated Western High School and will compete against Coral Springs Charter, Deerfield Beach, and Pompano Beach in March.
