The City of Coral Springs announced the passing of former City Manager Michael “Mike” Levinson on Oct. 30, 2025.
In a statement today, the city wrote that Levinson began his career with the city in 1993 as an assistant city manager and was appointed city manager in 1995, a role he held until 2010. During his 15-year tenure, Levinson transformed city operations by introducing the Sterling and Baldrige management models and promoting employee-led innovation to strengthen efficiency, accountability, and service excellence.
“I am grateful for Mike’s lasting contributions to our organization and community,” said City Manager Catherine Givens. “His leadership helped shape the culture of excellence we continue to build upon today. Mike’s commitment to continuous improvement helped our city thrive in both prosperous and challenging times.”
Under Levinson’s leadership, Coral Springs earned the Florida Sterling Award in 1997 and 2003 and achieved national recognition with the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2007—the first local government in the nation to receive that distinction.
Levinson will be remembered by the Coral Springs community, his friends, and colleagues for his dedication and decades of public service, according to the city.
