State engineers will begin work on Monday on a high-tech upgrade to traffic signal technology along Wiles Road in Coral Springs.
Florida’s Highway Construction and Engineering Division is expanding the high-speed fiber optic cable network between State Road 7 and Coral Springs Drive. This upgrade will allow intuitive traffic signals that adapt to real-time traffic patterns.
State officials said the project, known as the Mobility Advancement Program (MAP), is being funded by the Penny for Transportation surtax and is estimated to be completed by April 2025.
The officials said that during construction, contractors and inspectors will work closely with residents and businesses in the construction zone to minimize impact.
The Highway Construction and Engineering Division can be reached at 954-577-4555.
