It took the J.P. Taravella girls’ basketball team until their third game to pick up their first victory on Thursday.
The Trojans beat Coral Glades 43-32 to move to 1-2 on the season. JPT previously lost to Coral Springs Charter and Northeast High School after going 5-14 a season ago.
Their team consists of Isabel Burgos, Apryl Clark, Sarah Zouaghi, Nicolle Sanchez, Danielle Duncanson, Samia Telfort, Mitsuika Anne Leonidas, Brianna Whittaker, Willyanna Jacques, Nashly Garcia, Naciep Garcia, and Cadyn Johnson.
JPT closed the week out with a loss against Coral Springs High School but heads into their next game on Monday, Dec. 5, at South Plantation High School at 6 p.m. The Paladins are 3-0 this year with wins over West Broward, Stranahan, and Coral Springs Charter. This will be the first time these teams have played since 2019, with South Plantation picking up a 58-24 win.
