The track and field season continued, with all four high schools in Coral Springs competing in the City Championship along with Marjory Stoneman, Douglas, Monarch, Coconut Creek, and North Broward Prep.
The boys’ team finished first with 217 points, with Scardy Fils, Brandon Jameison, JahRee Pierre, and Joshua Reneau, along with Elijah Vessells, Scardy Fils, JahRee Pierre, and Akeem Beckford, winning relay races. Other first-place performances came from Benjamin Joseph in the triple jump and Joryton Delien in the discus.
Coral Springs High School placed second and shined in long-distance races, with Jeffrey Belizaire winning 800 and 1600 meters and Matthew Wykpisz winning 3200 meters. Darventz Charite won the discus, and Haozhen Yuan took first.
Coral Glades finished fourth, 19 points behind Marjory Stoneman Douglas. Their lone win came in the 4 x 100 relay with Keith Raymonvil, Anthony Casseus, Christian Wallace, and Isaiah Godfrey. Coral Springs Charter finished with 40 points but did not win any events. They trailed the Cougars and the Eagles by 20 points but were ahead of Monarch High School.
The J.P. Taravella girls team also won, finishing with 141 points, highlighted by two strong relay teams. Raquel Arne, Olivia Noel, Jada Thelwell, and Kiana Taylor won the 4 x 400 relay, while Arne, Samira Belizaire, Caileen Canales, and Noel took first in the 4 x 800 relay. Patricia Costa also placed first individually in the 100 hurdles.
Coral Springs Charter placed fourth with 113 points. Adrianna Harris won the shot put and discus. Kendall Parrott also won the 3200 meters, and Mackenzie Maniscalco won the javelin.
Coral Spring High School placed fifth with 102 points and had Olivia Higgins win the 800 meters, and Sofia Evans took first in the pole vault. Coral Glades had 43 points and came in seventh ahead of Monarch and Coconut Creek High School.
