A Coral Springs man faces 16 counts of lewd and lascivious behavior toward an underage victim after a young shoeless girl was found wandering the streets.
On January 17, a Coral Springs police officer on a routine patrol encountered a 14-year-old girl in a distressed state, barefoot and wearing men’s boxer briefs, on the 3500 block of Woodside Drive.
According to records, the young individual informed the officer that she was from LaBelle and had used an Uber service to travel to Coral Springs to meet with a man, later identified as Isaac Pena, 27, of Coral Springs.
The victim would later describe in detail a pattern of abuse she had endured at the hands of Pena, including rape, a failed pregnancy, and multiple incidents in which she was the subject of child pornography.
The victim explained to CSPD that she initially connected with Pena on Instagram in 2021 after Pena first reached out in April of that year with an inappropriate message.
The victim, who was 12 years old at the time, remembered informing Pena of her age, but he continued his pursuit, and she eventually first traveled to meet Pena in person on March 26, 2022.
Then, Pena arranged for the individual’s transportation to the McDonald’s at 7751 West Sample Road. Following this, Pena picked up the victim, and they went to his residence, which was located in the Preserve neighborhood within the “The Dells” subdivision area.
The victim told officers she was first sexually abused by Pena on March 30, when, at the time, she was just 13 years old. She proceeded to explain how she and Pena have since had sex multiple times over the past year, once resulting in a pregnancy and miscarriage.
According to records, the victim says that upon learning that she was pregnant, Pena advised her to “drink to get rid of the baby.”
Following the miscarriage, the victim claims the abuse continued, with Pena recording multiple encounters that took place inside his residence.
Upon approval from the victim’s mother, officers viewed multiple videos and images hidden within her photo that depicted the acts she described. Each video tagged Pena’s residence as the place where the recordings took place.
The victim told officers that Pena once visited her home in LaBelle, where he met her mother. However, her mother believed Pena to be only 18 years old at the time and only discovered his actual age when finding a photo of his driver’s license.
The victim told police that on January 13, she traveled to Coral Springs via an Uber, with the fare covered by Pena. Since then, they have stayed at Pena’s residence near the 3800 block of Wilderness Way. She explained to officers she was in town to gather her things from Pena, who she deemed ‘her ex-boyfriend’ during interviews.
According to arrest records, Pena was taken into custody and arrested on January 18. He was transported to the Broward County Jail, where he remains.
