A Coral Springs man was recently arrested for allegedly trafficking fentanyl in the city, according to court records.
Noah Popkin, 29, was busted on January 12 while driving near the Edgewater Apartments at 8931 Wiles Road shortly after 11:30 p.m. An officer had pulled Popkin over for dark tints on his white 2020 Audi Q4 and smelled a strong scent of marijuana, according to an arrest affidavit.
Inside Popkin’s SUV, officers said they found 55 pink amphetamine pills and powder that also tested positive for fentanyl, the affidavit states. Police also found marijuana, according to the document.
Popkin was booked on charges that include trafficking more than 28 grams of fentanyl and possession of cannabis, according to court records. He was being held without bond Friday at the Joseph V. Conte Facility, records show.
He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Police, in their affidavit, identified Popkin as an employee of the locally popular Karmic Ice Cream. The document does not otherwise mention the business.
