A Coral Springs man is facing charges of robbery and domestic assault after allegedly demanding money from a woman he held at knifepoint.
On December 7, Corey Nathan Springer, 37, of Coral Springs, was taken into custody by the Coral Springs Police Department following allegations of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and robbery.
According to the affidavit, Coral Springs Police Department officers responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence earlier in the day, where they met with a victim who reported that during an argument, Springer, her live-in boyfriend at the time, had allegedly held a kitchen knife to her throat, threatening to kill her if she did not give him money.
The victim recounted the altercation in the early morning when she and Springer argued in the kitchen. Springer, allegedly demanding money, chased the victim to their bedroom, where he put a knife to her throat and said, “Give me the money, or I will kill you.”
In fear for her life, the victim ultimately handed over $1,400 to Springer.
According to the report, Springer returned to the residence later that morning, and another argument ensued. During this altercation, the victim claimed that Springer grabbed her throat while she was throwing his clothes into the garbage.
Following that incident, the victim alleged that she gave Springer an additional $300 but called 911, prompting Springer to flee the scene upon learning of the call.
During an interview with CSPD, the victim’s roommate corroborated hearing arguments but did not witness the incidents. She reported seeing Springer leave the premises.
The victim told officers she believed Springer would have killed her had she not complied with his demands, noting specifically that Springer had been violent in the past, causing her visible injuries.
Springs was located and arrested later in the evening near the 8400 block of Northwest 86th Drive. He was later released after posting $22,500 bond.
