A man faces a litany of felony charges following a domestic altercation outside a Coral Springs Studio Six motel.
On November 24, the Coral Springs Police responded to a domestic battery call near the 5400 block of North University Drive after a 911 caller reported “someone busted their head open.”
Upon arrival, CSPD officers encountered a man, later identified as Stevie Spicy, 27, of Fort Lauderdale, who was yelling and crossing the street near Westview Drive.
According to records, officers witnessed a victim running across the street away from Spicy with apparent bleeding head wounds, as well as a witness who told police, “That’s who hit them,” while pointing toward Spicy.
The victim, who sustained a head laceration, was stopped and treated at the scene by rescue personnel for a laceration on their head.
During treatment, the victim told law enforcement that the altercation began inside their room at the Studio Six motel and escalated outside into the parking lot.
During the incident, Spicy allegedly slapped the victim and took out a handgun while threatening to kill them, allegedly stating, “I’ll kill your ass in here,” before repeatedly punching them in the head as the fight spilled into the parking lot.
Records show a search of Spicy’s backpack revealed 67.44 grams of cannabis packaged in 14 baggies, 11.32 grams of cocaine divided into 86 individual baggies, and a loaded Smith & Wesson handgun with five .40 caliber rounds, including one in the chamber.
Spicy’s possession of the drugs and firearm occurred within 1,000 feet of Imagine Charter School, located at 9001 Westview Drive, which brought additional charges.
A background check by CSPD on the scene also found that Spicy is a convicted felon and is not legally permitted to own a firearm.
Spicy was transported to the Broward County Main Jail.
