Costco customers in Coral Springs could soon see shorter gas lines at the wholesaler’s popular service station.
Coral Springs commissioners will vote next Wednesday on whether to allow Costco to add six fuel pumps at the station at 4621 Coral Ridge Dr., which would increase the number of pumps from 18 to 24, according to city records.
The proposed expansion aims to alleviate congestion at the service station, which frequently sees long lines of customers seeking some of the cheapest gas in South Florida.
The station, which is only available to Costco members, is not expected to see an increase in customers as a result of the added pumps, the records state.
The city’s Planning and Zoning Board voted unanimously in July to recommend approval of the expansion.
Records show that Costco and its service station sit on 17.2 acres of land that were vacant and undeveloped prior to 2019. Commissioners approved the construction of Costco in 2017, and the wholesale store opened in 2019.
Next Wednesday’s commission meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Coral Springs City Hall, 9500 W. Sample Rd.
