Hurricane Maria

Residents who would like to be a part of the Hurricane Maria relief can drop off much-needed supplies at GNC on Coral Ridge Drive.
GNC is working with the Northwest Broward Road Runners Club to help those who were impacted by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.
Coral Springs resident and member of the club, Gineth Mendez-Yibirin, felt the need to help with the effort after seeing the devastation in Puerto Rico along with having friends living there as well. She decided to ask her runners club to help spread awareness for Hurricane Maria efforts and posted the collection on their Facebook page. All donated goods such as canned food, diapers/wipes, can openers, gloves, batteries, blankets, sheets, pillows, first aid items, soap and sanitizer can help those affected.
Donations will be accepted at the GNC at 6059 Coral Ridge Dr, Coral Springs from now until Sunday, September 24, at 1 p.m.
“We have to be compassionate with other people who are suffering,” said Mendez-Yibirin. “Just for people to come out and help even if it’s one can of food. Everything helps.”
Donations are also being accepted at Coral Square Mall until September 30. More information here.
