The percentage of Coral Springs, Parkland, and Tamarac residents who received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine has increased in recent weeks, new state data show.
Compiled by the Florida Department of Health, the data show the percentage of Broward residents 12 and over who received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine as of Aug. 3, but does not include vaccinations at schools.
According to the data, local zip codes covering Coral Springs and Parkland (and shared with other cities) recorded the following numbers:
In 33065, 76 percent of the area’s 51,921 residents are at least partially vaccinated, up from 66 percent in June; In 33067 (population 26,458), the total is 69 percent, up from 63 percent; In 33071 (population 36,964), the total is 82 percent, up from 74 percent; In 33076 (population 29,751), the total is 93 percent, up from 86 percent.
Tamarac’s zip codes (shared with other cities) recorded the following numbers: In 33068, 53 percent of the area’s 49,824 residents are at least partially vaccinated, up from 44 percent in June; In 33309 (population 33,705), the total is 77 percent, up from 65 percent; In 33319 (population 44,420), the total is 58 percent, up from 51 percent; In 33321 (population 44,327), the total is 72 percent, up from 65 percent; In 33351 (population 32,890), the total is 78 percent, up from 67 percent.
Overall, 73 percent of Broward residents 12 and over have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine as of Aug. 3, up from 64 percent in June, the data show.
On Friday, Broward County reported 12,590 additional cases of COVID-19, bringing the county’s confirmed infection total to 280,980, records show. Broward hospitals led all U.S. counties in COVID-19 patient admissions for the seven-day period ending Friday, with 1,470, federal data show.
Florida this week reported a statewide total of 134,506 new COVID-19 cases, an average of over 19,000 per day, according to state data. The COVID positivity rate was 18.9 percent, the highest ever recorded during the pandemic.
