Dust off your lederhosen and prepare your best yodel—Downtown Coral Springs is again transforming into a Bavarian wonderland for its annual Oktoberfest celebration.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday, October 5, from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on the City Hall Lawn at 9500 W Sample Road.
The Oktoberfest celebration will feature traditional German grub, contests, music from the Brussels Sprouts Band, and, of course, countless steins of beer.
For the 21+ crowd, expect a beer enthusiast’s dream with themed contests that’ll have you testing your strength and beer-guzzling skills. For those blessed with vocal cords or liquid courage, the event will also feature a Yodeling Contest.
After a couple hours of warming up to the surroundings, a ceremonial keg tapping will kick off the primetime party at 6:00 p.m.
While the adults are busy with their steins, children are welcome to have fun at the Kinder Carnival, featuring inflatable axe throwing, Skee Ball, and crafts.
Back by popular demand, Dachshund owners can enter their dogs into the annual Oktoberfest Wiener Dog Race. Participation is limited, and wiener dog owners must pre-register online.
“From the festive food and drinks to the lively entertainment and one-of-a-kind contests, our annual Oktoberfest event exemplifies the same spirit of togetherness and sense of community that makes Coral Springs special,” said Mayor Scott Brook in an announcement of this year’s celebrations, adding “I look forward to welcoming residents, visitors, and, of course, the fabled King Ludwig of Bavaria and Princess Therese, to the City Hall Lawn for an evening of celebration.”
Admission to this Oktoberfest extravaganza is free.
A dedicated Ride Share location will be conveniently placed at the southwest corner of University Drive and Sample Road.
