Tris and Eliza {Broward County Animal Care}
Two adorable pets are waiting to find their forever homes through Broward County Animal Care — Tris, a loyal Staffordshire Terrier, and Eliza, an independent yet affectionate tabby cat.
Tris: A Resilient Terrier with a Heart of Gold
Tris (A2421298) is a 4-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier who has spent the past six months at the shelter after being found wandering the streets of West Park in April. Despite her difficult start, Tris has remained sweet, loving, and eager to please everyone she meets.
Shelter staff describe her as an “easy walker” who enjoys peaceful outings and thrives on Broward Animal Care’s Broward Buddies doggie dates. However, life in the shelter has taken a toll on her — she now shows signs of stress from the long wait, such as pacing and barking.
Tris is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, with all adoption fees waived thanks to Leisa Wade, The Pet Realtor, who also covers her registration fee. She’s ready to find the calm, loving home she deserves.
Eliza: From Fear to Friendship
Eliza (A2429402) is a 1-year-and-4-month-old brown tabby Domestic Shorthair rescued from an abandoned apartment in June. Once fearful, she has grown into a friendly and curious cat who now enjoys gentle pets — and the occasional treat.
Eliza is part of the shelter’s Working Cat program, ideal for barns, warehouses, or other non-traditional environments where she can explore freely and provide natural pest control. With patience and care, she may also blossom into a devoted house cat.
Eliza is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, with her adoption fee waived and only a $25 registration fee required.
