Principal Lindsey Sierra {David Volz}
Parkside Elementary School is welcoming a new principal, Lindsey Sierra.
She comes from nearby Eagle Ridge Elementary, where she began her education career and spent 24 years.
Sierra began there as a teacher and then became a reading coach, an assistant principal, and the principal, a position she held for six years.
Sierra believes a good teacher has a sense of “with-it-ness” and knows what to do and when to do it in a classroom. “An experienced teacher has many tools and has to be able to handle a variety of classroom situations,” said Sierra.
As principal, Sierra considers herself a teacher of teachers, but she is also willing to learn from experienced teachers. “I am a coach, and I want to inspire the educators here. I am looking forward to meeting all the teachers and getting to know them.”
Parkside has a strong academic reputation and has earned an “A” grade. The school has a robotics team.
“I know this school has positive traditions and a good community, and I am looking forward to being a part of it,” said Sierra.
Parkside Elementary is located at 10257 NW 29th St in Coral Springs.
