A man believed by officials to be the “Filter Bandit” robbed a SunTrust Bank branch on Wednesday in Coral Springs causing one customer to faint at the scene.
At approximately 3:52 p.m., the robber entered the bank at 9501 Wiles Road, displayed a weapon and demanded money from a a bank employee. According to the FBI, no shots were fired. The customer that fainted, was treated at the scene. The amount of money taken will not be released by officials.
The robber is described as the Filter Bandit because he typically wears a dust filter mask along with dark-colored pants and a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt during the robberies.
The FBI believes this robber may be the same individual who has robbed area banks including a March 31, 2015 robbery of a SunTrust bank at 1890 N. University Drive and a reward offer of $5,000 remains in effect.
