Coral Springs High School Cheerleading Wins Regionals: Heads to States

Coral Springs High School Cheerleading advances to States after winning regionals Friday night.

The Colts competed in the Medium Non-Tumbling Division competing against 12 schools, including Dillard, South Plantation, Pompano Beach, Blanche Ely, and Deerfield Beach High School, after a raw score of 90. The Colts have 21 players who compete on the team.

Head Coach Amanda Mortimer and the rest of her staff, including Rob Robinson and Courtney Fisikelli, are proud of the way their team competed all year and are excited to be moving on to States.

“Our girls have worked tirelessly to give this routine the dedication and energy it needs. We have worked as a family all season long, and it showed on the floor at regionals,” said Mortimer.

Coral Springs High School has won four BCAA District Champions in each of the past two years and also won the FHSAA Regional Championship last year. They are also two-time FHSAA State Champions in 2015 and 2016.

They will advance right to the finals on Friday, February 1, at the University of Florida. They will also take part in Nationals on February 7-8 at Wide World of Sports in Orlando.
