Broward County residents with an arrest history can learn how to apply to seal and expunge their records at a workshop hosted by the Broward State Attorney’s Office, prosecutors announced Saturday.
The arrest record sealing and expungement workshop will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on March 3 at the Miramar Multi-Service Complex, 6700 Miramar Parkway, in Miramar. Doors will close promptly at 7 p.m.
If a person was charged with a crime and the case did not result in a conviction, they may be eligible to have a single arrest record expunged, according to prosecutors.
If they were charged with a crime and received an adjudication withheld, that case may be eligible to be sealed.
Applicants are encouraged to fill out an online application form in advance of the workshop. Walk-ins are welcome. Participants should bring a valid identification.
For those who want to submit their application by mail instead of attending the workshop, the requirement documents are available for download here:
More information about the sealing and expungement process is available here.
