For the seventh straight season, Coral Springs Charter softball won the District Championship.
The Panthers came into the postseason as the top seed and run-ruled Cardinal Gibbons High School and Calvary Christian Academy in a pair of 15-0 victories.
“Our offense has made life easier of late and our pitching staff has been lights out,” said Head Coach Mark Montimurro. Proud of the girls for grabbing another District Title.”
The Panthers record hits from 13 different players in their first game while Stina Dagostino and Heather Robertson. They also combine to drive in nine of the team’s 30 runs.
Kate Maston and Sophia Bertorelli drove in three while Isabella Bertorelli, Grace Derstine, Stina Dagostino, Addison Michel, Julia Estroff, Stephanie Basso, Brianna Godfrey, Emily Barnell and Adison Michel had one.
On the mound, Sophia Berterolli struck out 13 before Brianna Godfrey struck out three in the third inning.
With the win, CSC improved their record to 20-3 and will head into Regionals as the one seed. They will wait to see who they will be playing in the Quarterfinals on Wednesday, May 12, at Betty Stradling Park in Coral Springs.
