A new analysis ranked Coral Springs as the 16th most expensive city in South Florida for renting an apartment in July, while Tamarac ranked the third least expensive.
The price of one-bedroom units grew 28 percent in Coral Springs from July 2021 to July 2022, to a median of $1,780, and a two-bedroom rose 24 percent to $1,990 during that period.
In Tamarac, the median price of a one-bedroom in July was $1,520, up 22 percent since July 2021. According to the analysis, only Homestead and Lauderhill boasted lower rents for a one-bedroom in the region.
A two-bedroom in Tamarac went for a median price of $2,100 in July, up 33 percent from last year.
The local rental data is part of the Zumper Miami Metro Area Report, which analyzed active rental listings that hit the market in July 2022 across 28 South Florida municipalities. The report shows the most and least expensive areas with the fastest-growing rents in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach Counties.

Other local highlights from the Zumper analysis:
The average rent for a one-bedroom unit in Parkland was $1,395 in July. Compared to last year, the average rent price there has remained flat.
Parkland did not have enough rental listings to qualify for inclusion in the report.
The same was true of Margate, where the median rent for a one-bedroom in July was calculated at $1,725, a 24 percent increase from last year.
Lauderhill was the second least expensive city in Zumper’s report, with a median rent of $1,460 for a one-bedroom unit.

The city with the fastest-growing rents in Broward was Hallandale Beach, where rent for one-bedroom units jumped 39 percent since last July to $1,950.
