Tijuana Flats was ordered closed after a state health inspection found live and dead roaches in the kitchen and dining room.
According to a Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation inspection report, the Tijuana Flats at 6204 West Sample Road closed on April 30 after inspectors documented six violations.
According to the report, the restaurant was cited for roach activity after inspectors observed multiple live roaches in several areas. Inspectors reported finding roaches between a wall and a sink, as well as behind or on the back of a fire-extinguisher sign on the same wall.
Inspectors also found roaches on a cornhole game board in the dining room, as well as on the baseboard behind it.
The restaurant was also cited for dead roaches in multiple areas.
According to the inspection report, the April 30 inspection resulted in the restaurant being temporarily ordered shut by state inspectors.
