Kubo Asian Fusion & Bar was cited for multiple health code violations following a routine inspection.
According to the inspection report conducted on September 9, inspectors uncovered seven violations.
Among the most significant violations were live, small flying insects discovered in the kitchen, food preparation areas, food storage areas, and bar. Insects were found near the three-compartment sink, the dishwashing area, and a storage area near the kitchen.
The inspection also revealed problems with food storage practices. Raw chicken was improperly stored above ready-to-eat scallions inside a cooler, marking a repeat violation for the restaurant. This practice poses a risk of cross-contamination, which can lead to foodborne illnesses.
Additional violations included the misuse of a designated hand wash sink, which was being used for storage purposes, and the improper placement of sanitizing solutions. The inspection report also found a sanitizer bucket directly on the floor in the sushi bar area.
Due to these violations, inspectors have required follow-up inspections to ensure the discovered violations are appropriately remediated.
