
Coral Glades Boys Soccer Team. {David Volz}
High School soccer continued this week with a rivalry matchup between two local teams, as well as success from some other schools.
Cooing off a 3-0 win on Wednesday for their first victory of the season, following goals fromJorge Flores, Lio Eliassaint, and Othneil Thomas, the Coral Springs High School boys soccer team knocked off Coral Springs Charter two days later 1-0.
The Coral Springs Charter girls team played its first game in a week and handed Coral Springs High School its fifth straight loss of the season, winning 6-0.
Next, both the Coral Springs High School soccer teams will play Charles W. Flanagan High School on Monday, December 1, starting at 5 p.m., while Coral Springs Charter will play Calvary Christian Academy on Tuesday, December 2, beginning at 5 p.m.
The Coral Glades boys team has dominated this season, winning four of its first five games. The Jaguars began the year with a win over Somerset Academy and South Plantation High School before following it up with a 6-0 win over Charles W Flanagan High School. They also beat Cooper City 4-0 on Monday before suffering their first loss of the season against NSU University.
Jaden Lloyd currently leads the team in goals, while Santiago Sahchez has scored twice and has six assists. Eli Samuels and Theo Helman Domingues De Oliveira all have scored twice, while Dekari Lawrence, Jonathan Hoyos, Adreano Navarro, and Cameron St. Hilaire have found the back of the net once.
Next, Coral Glades will play Pembroke Pines Charter on Monday, December 1, at 5 p.m. before a matchup three days later with Marjory Stoneman Douglas.
The Coral Glades girls team is 2-3-1 this season, losing games this week to Cooper City High School and NSU University. Through six games, Jasmine Arroyo leads the way with three goals while Emiliana Paiva and Alana Yasuda each have two, including one in their last game. Mikayla Estrada has also scored once.
Coral Glades previously beat Davis Posnak Jewish Day and Charles W. Flnagan High School and will play Pembroke Pines Charter on Monday, December 1, at 7 p.m.
The J.P. Taravella boys team is 2-1 this year and has wins over Hollywood Hills and McAthur High School. The Trojans won 5-0 in the first game and then fell 5-2 against pemrboe Pine Charter, before responding with a 3-1 win in their last game on November 12.
Next, the Trojans will play Blanche Ely High School on December 1 at 5 p.m. The Tigers are winless in five games this season and have scored only one goal after winning seven games last year.
The J.P. Taravella girls team has yet to play this year and is scheduled to compete against Blanche Ely High School on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. The Tigers come into the game with a record of 2-2.
