
Coral Glades Boys Soccer Team. {David Volz}
Coral Springs had no soccer teams that won District championships, but one team qualified for Regionals.
The Coral Glades boys soccer team was seeded seventh and played Christopher Columbus High School in their Quarterfinals on Tuesday but lost 5-1. The Jaguars previously went 13-4-2 before losing to Boca Raton Community High School in penalty kicks in the District Semifinals.
Christian Wallace led the team in goals, while Leonard Frandi finished second, followed by Theo Helman, Domingues De Oliveiraaden Lloyd, Santiago Sanchez, Eiren Villafuerte, Cameron St. Hilaaire, and Aaden Clark. Caleb Tomlin, Zidaan Williams, Julian Roman, Jonathan Herrera, Laureano Cordero and Noah Cianciulli scored one. Williams, Lucca Rabaiotti, Wallace, Leonhard Brandi, Lucas Betancur, and Tomlin will all graduate this year.
The Coral Springs High School girls soccer team made a run to the District Final but lost 1-0 against Fort Lauderdale High School in overtime after beating Deerfield Beach and Piper High School. The Colts were left out of Regionals after finishing the season 5-12-1.
Jaylene Rodriguez led the team with five goals, while Kayla Hillard and Kylie Lum each scored three. Eliana Cassara added two, with Gabriel Castillo and Dominque Roccia each finding the back of the net once. Five seniors will graduate this year, with Castillo, Abigail Matis, Melanie Sola, Roccia, and Gabriella Stubblefield.
The Coral Springs Charter girl’s soccer team was also knocked out in the District Semifinals against Cardinal Gibbons High School. Despite finishing the season 13-5-2, the Panthers did not qualify for Regionals. They previously had an 8-0 win over Frankie Academy in the opening round.
