The Veranda Kitchen and Bar restaurant celebrated its grand opening on the afternoon of May 20.
The party included a ribbon cutting hosted by the Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce, attended by city and community leaders. Individuals who came could sample the Thai and Vietnamese cuisine offered by Veranda.
Sonka Nguyen, who owns Veranda with her husband Hai Pham, thanked everyone for coming and welcomed them into the restaurant, which offers a pleasant dining atmosphere. She is proud of the restaurant’s stir-fry dishes and Pho.
“I want to share Thai and Vietnamese food with the Coral Springs community, and I am happy to be here,” said Nguyen.
After the opening ceremony, people enjoyed tasting the various dishes and socializing. Commissioner Joe McHugh thanked Nguyen for choosing Coral Springs and wished her success.
Originally from Hue, in South Vietnam, Nguyen and Pham operated restaurants in Westbrook, Maine, before coming to Coral Springs.
Veranda Kitchen and Bar is in The Walk at 2864 North University Drive. Hours are Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
