The Coral Springs Charter girls’ cross-country team dominated a BCAA meet held at Pompano Beach Municipal Park on October 7.
Charter runners Lily Richardson finished first, Sydney McDougall took second, Alyson Thomas was third, and Cecilia Kozlowski finished fifth. Hailey Lockwitiz was seventh and Taylor Hartley was eighth..
“It was a good course, and we ran well. Now I am looking forward to the county championship,” said Richardson.
McDougall said she was pleased to finish second and hopes to improve for the upcoming meets.
Matthew Wykpisz of Coral Springs High finished second, and Lucas Werth of Coral Springs Charter finished sixth. David Doreus of Coral Springs High took eighth, and JahRee Pierre of Taravella finished ninth.
“I am looking forward to the county championship,” said Wykpisz.
Coral Springs High Coach Khiro Hoilett said he was proud of his team and believes they will do well in the upcoming county and district meets. “We had a lot of personal bests today, and I think our team did well. Wykpisz has recovered from an injury and ran well,” said Hoilett.
The Charter boys’ team finished second, and the Coral Springs High team finished fourth.
