Residents that came out for the Pinktober spaghetti dinner got the deal of a lifetime. For only a $5 donation, they received a great meal cooked by the fire chief himself along with other firefighters that helped prepare the meal.
On October 18, the Coral Springs Fire Department held the annual dinner in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
According to Fire Chief Frank Babinec, they cooked up 120 pounds of meatballs and 160 pounds of raw pasta which served 786 dinners to the public.
“The event was amazing. To see so many people in attendance, supporting such an important cause was nice to witness,” said Mike Moser, Division Chief Coral Springs Fire Department. “We always have a great sense of community, but when so many people come out to support us, it means a lot.”
Donations and proceeds from t-shirt sales benefit the Coral Springs Firefighters Benevolent Association and the American Cancer Society.
