The high school football season continued with one team recording a win this week.
Coral Springs Charter won their fourth straight game following a victory against Traditions Prep on Friday. The Panthers are 6-2 and will play North Broward Prep in their next game on Friday, October 17, at 7 p.m. The Pirates are 2-5 this year with wins against Glades Day and Legacy High School.
Coral Glades improved to 5-3 following a 35-21 win against Boca Raton Community High School on Thursday. Tyler Coury threw for 130 yards and two touchdown passes, with Joseph Kogonn and Bryce Cox each catching one. Romero Williams ran for 201 yards and scored a touchdown, along with Wensleydale Mombrum, while James Griffins made two field goals and two extra points.
The Jaguars will now turn their attention to J.P. Taravella on Thursday, October 16, at 6:30 p.m. The Trojans fell to 1-6 after a loss to Cypress Bay High School on Thursday. Their only win came against Pompano Beach High School earlier this year, and they lost last year’s game 35-0. JPT’s previous win against Coral Glades came in 2019, a 41-0 victory for the Trojans.
Coral Springs High School continues to struggle, losing to Monarch High School 46-0 on Thursday. The Colts remain winless through their first seven games and will compete against Marjory Stoneman Douglas on Friday, October 17, at 7 p.m. The Eagles are 2-5 this year, with wins over Cooper City and Boyd H. Anderson. MSD won 33-13 a year ago and has not lost in the last 11 matchups.
