With the regular season coming to a close in high school girls’ volleyball, the District Playoffs are about to start at Coral Glades High School.
Marjory Stoneman Douglas, Coral Springs, Coral Glades, and J.P. Taravella compete alongside West Boca Raton High School and Deerfield Beach in District 12 7A.
Both West Boca and Coral Glades will have byes in the opening round. The Jaguars are currently 13-4 this year and received the second seed in the playoffs.
They are set to face the winner of (3) Marjory Stoneman Douglas and (6) Deerfield Beach. These two teams did not meet during the regular season despite the Bucks having five victories compared to the Eagles with three. These teams will play on Monday, October 18, at 6 p.m.
Should MSD advance, they will face the Jaguars for the second time this year after dropping their first match against them all-time on September 22. Coral Glades defeated Deerfield Beach 3-1 in their only meeting this season.
On the top half of the bracket, (5) Coral Springs High School will face (4) J.P. Taravella. Despite the Trojans having only one win this year, it comes against the Colts. This match will start on Monday, October 14 at 4 p.m., with the winner facing off against West Boca.
Both semifinal matches are set for Tuesday, October 15, at Coral Glades. The winners will then play on Wednesday, October 16, in the championship at 4:30 p.m.
