Coral Glades continues to improve in all its sports and has had some of its top student-athletes picked to All-Conference Teams.
The softball team won 10 games, including one in the postseason against Marjory Stoneman Douglas, before losing to Western High School in Districts and Regionals.
Brianna Escobar was named to the First Team after hitting .467 with four home runs and 16 extra-base hits. She had 33 RBIs and scored 15 runs. Cameron Marques and Jordin Shurpin were Honorable Mentions.
The baseball team had a strong season, competing in one of the toughest Districts with Marjory Stoneman Douglas. Despite falling to them in the postseason, the Jaguars still managed to win 14 games, which was highlighted by Jason Lincoln’s selection to the second team.
Lincoln made 10 appearances on the mound and pitched to an ERA of 1.63, highlighted by a no-hitter against Somerset Academy Canyons. He also struck out 63 hitters in 42.1 innings pitched, including tossing a no-hitter. Brayden Hopkins and Asa Lindo were each named Honorable Mentions.
The flag football team had a historic year, making it to the playoffs and losing in their first and last game of the year. The Jaguars won 13 straight games during the regular season and pitched 12 consecutive shutouts. Noal Thomas and Madison Watts were recognized as Honorable Mentions.
The track and field team also received Honorable Mentions from Isaiah Godfrey, Devin Roman, Lesday Viera of the boys ‘ team, Camille Camper, and Nekalia Watt of the girls’ team.
