The High School baseball teams in Coral Springs began postseason play with the District Championship, while one team is set to continue playing in Regionals.
J.P. Taravella was seeded second and lost 2-0 against Western High School. Sebastian Mayfield, J.C. Martinez, Tyler Morgan, and Marcus Crespo all had hits while Anthony Tizol pitched five strong innings. However, the Trojans allowed a run in the fourth and the sixth to fall to 15-10.
However, the Trojans qualified for Regionals and had a rematch against Western High School. This time it was a best-of-three series, which saw the Trojans take Game 1 following a 4-1 win. Zack Stepens started the game and did not allow an earned run in 4.1 innings before Bryson Plante got the final eight outs to record the save. Marcus Crespo and Jeremiah McFarlane drove in runs before the Trojans dropped Game 2, 9-3.
However, they would advance to play Marjory Stoneman Douglas following a 9-4 win on April 26. JC Martinez hit a home run and drove in three, while Anthony Tizol also hit a home run and drove in two. Joseph Ghann, McFarlane, and Colton Dishman all knocked in runs. Ghann pitched 4.1 innings and allowed only one earned run, with Plante recording the final seven outs.
J.P. Taravella, though, lost to the Eagles 12-2 in the first game, with Tizol and R Valdez recording RBIs. They then lost 10-0 in Game 2 and finished the season 17-13.
On Monday, the Coral Springs High School baseball team recorded a 2-0 win over Olympic Heights Community High School. The Colts came into the District Tournament as the third seed and had Luis Comella and Brandon Matlock each drive in runs while Angelo Painter, Angel Ruguian, and Ryan Guthrie combined to toss a shutout and struck out 11.
Despite RBIs from Jaxon Krugman and Josh Garris, the Colts lost 4-3 against Deerfield Beach High School in the Semifinals. Guthrie pitched again and allowed only one earned run in four innings before Ruguian and Saul Betancourt pitched in relief as CSHS finished the season 12-14.

The Jaguars had 18 of their 21 outs come by the strikeout, but did get six quality innings of relief pitching from Asa Lindo and Jason Lincoln after the two allowed only two earned runs to fall to 14-6 this year.
American Heritage High School knocked out Coral Springs Charter after the Panthers lost 5-1, with Mason Alexander recording the only RBI. Connor Sova, Carter Hayden, Nolan Miakowski, and Yadisson Karbalaieasghar all added hits while Miakowski and Reid Darin pitched three innings in the first playoff game to finish the season 10-13.
