In their final race before the District Tournament, the Coral Springs Charter boys and girls track and field had another strong event on Wednesday at Coral Springs High School.
The CSC boys team came in fourth with 39 points, and the girls finished second with 75 points. Coral Springs High School boys and girls team took first.
Boys Team
The lone win for Coral Springs Charter came from Thomas Paquet in the 3,200 meters. The Panthers had three different student-athletes come in second place in their respective events in Andrew Herold (110 Hurdles), Jeremyah Ilsaint (Long Jump), and Michael Snow (Discus). Matthew Whyte, Chris Gayle, Lucas Willis, Christian Rodriguez, and a pair of relay teams placed in the top five.
Other CSC racers who performed well were Caleb Makovsky, Brock Wilson, Mathias Uribe, Thomas Paquet, Liam Blum, John Heffernan, Sam Muniz, Camden Fearon, Jordan Richardson, and Anthony Morande, helping the Panthers come in fourth place as a team.
Girls Team
Abigail Foster had an excellent day for CSC placing second in the 400, 800, and 4 x 800 relay team with her sister, Katie Foster, Ana Zambrano, and Ashlee Diaz.
Giuliana Kostic and Kaitlyn O’Neil also finished as the runner-up, while O’Neil came in third with Pharrah Wright-Foster, Diaz, Hannah Manger, Shasta Rush, and the Panthers’ second 4 x 400 relay team came in fourth.
Tai Johnston, Ana Zambrano, Madison Spang, Elliot Schoenthaler, Brishaunna Russell, Arianna Gibbs, Maia Montesino, Hannah Manger, Gabrielle Taylor, and Shasha Rush all contributed as well to their second-place finish.
Next, CSC will compete before the District Championship, held on Tuesday, April 19.
