Coral Springs leaders and staff members introduced the newly renovated Turtle Run Park to residents on the morning of May 2.
Improvements to the park include a new walking pathway, an exercise area with six new fitness stations and a shade structure, a new pavilion, a new volleyball court, and new LED lighting. Also, a baseball field was transformed into a multipurpose athletic field suitable for any outdoor sport, according to the Director of Parks and Recreation, Robert Hunter.
A new playground with an interactive structure for children was installed. The tennis court area was renovated, so there are three resurfaced tennis courts. Six pickleball courts were built at nearby Forest Glen Middle School through an agreement with Broward County Public Schools. These courts are available to the public outside of school hours and on weekends, according to Hunter.

“We have a very nice park, and the community came together to make improvements,” said Hunter.
The Turtle Run Foundation, Turtle Run Community Development District, Broward County Public Schools, and Coral Springs all collaborated and contributed funding to the project. The specific financial contributions from each partner have not yet been disclosed, and the total project cost remains undetermined, according to City Manager Catherine Givens.
“I’m happy that members of the community came together and worked to make improvements to this park,” she said.
During the celebration, residents met with city leaders and enjoyed free ice cream.
