Developers are continuing to make progress on Cornerstone, and the Hyatt Hotel could be coming soon.
In a Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) meeting on Monday, Kristi Bartlett, Economic Development Office director, stated groundbreaking of the Hyatt will tentatively begin in March.
The 144-room hotel will have a rooftop bar and restaurant on the west side of Cornerstone’s south block. Construction is expected to be completed by Dec. 2024.
The groundbreaking announcement followed an August update on the project when Bartlett said Predesco Property, LLC’s projected Hyatt construction start date would be early 2023.
City officials and Predesco originally announced the plans for a Hyatt in downtown Coral Springs in May 2021. ADËLON Capita will serve as the developer, and AD1 Management will manage the property.
Both blocks will feature two eight-story, mixed-use buildings named Modera Coral Springs. They will include 351 rental units in the south block and 361 rental units in the north block.
For the commercial and retail components, representatives from Predesco said they were in talks with multiple businesses, including Yard House, Jet Set Pilates, and Vino’s Wine Bar, to open locations at Cornerstone.
According to the city’s website, full construction of the south block, excluding the Hyatt, is estimated to be complete by July 2023. Construction of the north block will begin around May 2023 and last roughly through April 2025.
In addition to Cornerstone, Bartlett updated the CRA on development on a proposed mixed-use development on the northeast corner of Sample Road and University Drive at the former Publix site.
The development would feature roughly 377 residential units and 11,525 square feet of commercial space if approved, and construction on that project is tentatively set to begin in mid-2023.
