Funeral Arrangements Details for Hixon and Feis AnnouncedBy: Chris Brunner

Funeral arrangements have been announced for Athletic Director Chris Hixon and Assistant Football Coach Aaron Feis, both hailed as heroes during the mass shooting rampage at Marjory Stoneman Douglas.

Hixon, 49, of Hollywood, who served in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm will be buried with full military honors. He helped patrol the campus and monitored threats as a security specialist. Hixon was last seen by Douglas head football coach Willis May Jr. speeding toward the scene of the active shooter in a golf cart with Feis to see if they could help.

Feis, 37, of Coral Springs was the school’s athletic coach and security guard who was first warned by a student about the shooter on campus. He has been hailed as a hero for pushing kids to safety and shielding a 9th grade student as bullets were flying.
