The High School girls basketball teams in Coral Springs wrapped up the regular season with senior night as the reams now gear up for the District Tournament.
The Coral Springs High School girls team honored seniors Niqueaha Cross, Janyah Holmes, and Janelle Swaby in an 81–24 victory in their final home game. The Lady Colts wrapped up the regular season with an 8th win, defeating Boyd H. Anderson High School 73–27.CSHS enters the District Tournament as the No. 2 seed and will play the winner of Fort Lauderdale High School and South Plantation High School. St. Thomas Aquinas, ranked 11th in the state, is the top seed and will face the winner of Boyd H. Anderson and Deerfield Beach High School after earning a bye.
The J.P. Taravella girls team closed its home schedule with a 45–23 loss to Fort Lauderdale High School. Seniors Valentina Villalobos and Atarah Moore were recognized as the Lady Trojans finished the regular season 7–7.Seeded eighth, the Trojans will take on West Broward High School in the opening round, with the winner advancing to face Western High School. Cypress Bay and Piper High School will also meet in the semifinals after receiving first-round byes.
The Coral Glades girls team dropped its regular-season finale, falling 49–40 to Westminster Academy. The Jaguars’ last win came on Senior Night the week prior, and they head into districts 6–8 as the No. 6 seed. They will face Boca Raton Community High School, which finished 11–8. The winner will advance to play Park Vista Community High School in the semifinals. Marjory Stoneman Douglas is the top seed and will face the winner of Santaluces and Spanish River.
