The J.P. Taravella Thespians continue to enjoy success.
At the District 7 Thespian Festival on November 15 at Taravella, the troupe earned 11 superior ratings and 18 excellent ratings. According to theatre teacher Lori Sessions, they also secured four Critics' Choice awards, selected by the judges as the best pieces of the day, and six Top Honors, the highest-scoring pieces in the competition room. They also received three Honorable Mentions, which are the runners-up to Critics' Choice.
The one-act "Dinner with the MacGuffins" was state-selected, meaning it will represent District 7 at the Florida Thespian Festival in March 2026. "All in all, 2025 was a great year for J.P. Taravella drama," said Sessions.
