Heron Bay Serves Up a Dill-lightful Expansion with 6 New Pickleball Courts

Six new pickleball courts will be added to the Heron Bay community amid an explosion in the sport's popularity.
The six courts will be created by converting two existing tennis courts at The Commons Clubhouse, one of two in Heron Bay. Three new tennis courts will also be added as part of the expansion.
The project was unanimously approved on Wednesday by Coral Springs city commissioners, leading to applause among Heron Bay residents in the audience.
Heron Bay, which spans portions of Coral Springs and Parkland, has over 3,000 homes and about 10,000 residents, according to Mark Bosua, president of the Heron Bay Community Association.
“We used to have about 300 people play [on the community’s courts] … now we’re up to about 600,” Bosua told commissioners. “This is something that’s good for the community.”
Coral Springs Vice Mayor Shawn Cerra said of the project: “This will go a long way for Coral Springs to be the pickleball capital of the world.”
