The Coral Springs Museum of Art will host the 3rd Annual Pine & Palm Holiday Market on Friday, Dec. 1, and Saturday, Dec. 2.
The two-day shopping event will have original art and wares from local artists and makers. The events will be held inside a museum gallery, surrounded by the current exhibition “Intersectionality” by Kandy Lopez. The museum team carefully curated the vendors from a pool of applicants, organizers said.
The Friday event is a “Preview Market” that costs $10 for admission in advance or $15 at the door. There will be live music by Tim LaRoque.
The preview market will be open from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event “will give savvy visitors an advantage to purchase items before the market opens to the public on Saturday,” Juliana Forero, the museum’s Arts and Culture Programs Manager, said in an email.
Forero said the funds collected at the preview market will support the museum’s upcoming public programs.
Saturday’s “Public Market” is free to enter and will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. There will be a live art performance by Milena Arango, who will be colorfully “yarn bombing” the trees surrounding the museum, Forero said. The art will be visible from inside the museum.
Sodas, wine, and beer will be sold at the two-day event, with organizers encouraging attendees to “sip, shop and celebrate.” Saturday’s market will feature $5 mimosas. Light bites will also be offered.
The markets are being held at the Coral Springs Museum of Art in the Center for the Arts Complex, 855A Coral Springs Drive. There is free parking in the lot in front of the building, including accessible parking and ramps to the building.
As for the market vendors, some are returning vendors from previous years while others are selling their works at the event for the first time, organizers said.
