Students and teachers auditioned for the upcoming J.P. Taravella High School talent show in a campus-wide call for talent. The proceeds go toward future drama club productions.
Theatre teacher, Lori Sessions, said the event would feature a broad spectrum of acts, with prizes decided by a ‘celebrity panel’ of judges, including Principal DeArmas, wrestling coach Joseph St. Germaine, and Assistant Principal Debra Johnson.
“This is just an opportunity for many JPT students to showcase their talents. There will be performances by our musical theatre class, Little Trojans, school band, and Step Team,” she said.
Sessions added that the talent show, which rehearses just once before the big night, is a variety of individual and ensemble performances by singers and musicians and a puppeteer.
“There will also be a “fan favorite” award, where the audience can vote for their favorite act,” said Sessions.
‘JPT’s Got Talent’ is set for Friday, April 22 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5.00 and are sold at the door. J.P. Taravella High School is located at 10600 Riverside Drive.
