In less than a year in office, Broward County Commissioner Marty Kiar has found that the best ideas come from his constituents. One idea in particular is to make county parks free for veterans with service related disabilities. He found not only was it a great idea, it was also the right thing to do.

Coral Springs is looking for volunteers to help keep the city beautiful by alerting code compliance to common violations. The city’s Code Ranger program, which was introduced in 2009, has volunteer residents helping code enforcement officers by informing residents about common violations affecting aesthetics.

Chaz Stevens wrote that Daniel Sohn, 22, candidate for Dania Beach city commissioner, lied about his nonprofit as well as embellished his resume. As of today, his Facebook page for his candidacy has been removed and endorsements are dropping like flies.

Broward County teachers who are interested in our environment can now inspire their own students by taking a unique training program through NatureScape Broward.
NatureScape Broward recently completed a National Wildlife Federation Habitat Steward training for Broward County Public School teachers. Habitat Stewards are individuals with a keen interest in the environment and a willingness to volunteer their time and expertise to help others create or restore wildlife habitat.
