The Coral Glades High School boy’s soccer team had their best win of the season against Marjory Stoneman Douglas Tuesday night to advance to their first District Finals in school history.
The Jaguars lost to the Eagles earlier this season but ultimately turned the table on them this game, winning 4-1 after falling behind 1-0.
Marvin Coleman scored his first three goals of the season all in Tuesday’s game, and Robert Banhegyesi added a goal.
“We were not happy with the result of our home game against Douglas during the regular season,” said Head Coach Robens Decius. “Today, we were the better team on the field and on the scoresheet. We didn’t beat ourselves.”
Coral Glades improves their record this season to 7-6-4 on the season despite losing their last three regular-season games.
Up next, they will compete against Monarch in the District Finals on Thursday, February 5, at 5 p.m. at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.
These teams met earlier this season with Coral Glades and Monarch playing to a 2-2 draw despite Monarch’s division-leading 12 wins. They defeated Coral Springs 4-1 on Tuesday in their semifinals matchup.
